Senior CAD Engineer – Logic Tools (MDK Development)

Job Summary:
The Senior CAD Engineer is responsible for the development and maintenance of logic tools within the MDK (Multi-Disciplinary Kit) environment, focusing on optimizing digital design flows and toolchain efficiency. Assist the Operations Head/Manager in managing resources and ensuring the successful integration and deployment of logic tools for design teams.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain logic tools for MDK to support the digital design process.
  • Collaborate with design and verification teams to understand tool requirements and ensure seamless integration into the design environment.
  • Support the adaptation of MDK tools to new process nodes and evolving design specifications.
  • Perform tool validation, debugging, and optimization to enhance tool functionality and design accuracy.
  • Troubleshoot issues within the logic toolchain, ensuring continuous improvement and optimization.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to develop test plans and support integration testing of logic tools.
  • Create and maintain detailed documentation for logic tools, workflows, and best practices.
  • Provide training and support for internal teams on the effective use of logic tools.

 

Key Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Applied Physics. Master’s/PhD is a plus.
  • At least 5 years of experience in developing logic tools for IC design, preferably in a CAD/EDA environment.
  • Expert in developing logic tools for MDK environments, focusing on optimizing digital design flows
  • Experience with EDA tools such as Cadence, Synopsys, or Mentor Graphics
  • Familiarity with advanced semiconductor processes and design for manufacturing (DFM)
  • Strong understanding of digital IC design processes and workflows
  • Proficient in scripting languages such as Python, Perl, Tcl, or Shell scripting for tool automation and integration
  • Expertise in developing custom scripts to enhance tool functionality and integration
  • Ability to debug and optimize existing scripts and tools for improved performance
